Kamla House

The exercise aimed at extracting out the drawing style of ARATA ISOZAKI observed in his work , ‘ RUINS OF TSUKUBA CENTRE ‘ and channelizing the techniques into
‘ KAMALA HOUSE ’ by VASTU SHILP ARCHITECTS , to articulate the final Representation .

Isozaki skillfully defines the rendezvous of both Western Principles as well as Japanese aesthetics by portraying The famous Tsukuba Centre building in the form of its ruins , rather than focussing on the finished product. This not only boasts of the contemporary attire of the drawing , but also squeezed out few of the required materialistic and constructional details about the building. The architect took a Perspective approach to elaborate the ideology along with a Pastel color palette , that revived the communicative demeanour of the structure, amidst the background that imparted reminiscence of alienated space. The Sciography played a significant role in communicating the expression of the art.

Kamala House, similar to Isozaki’s ethics , was informed by the blend of both Eastern and Western traditions. The house is the residence of famous Architect B.V. Doshi and is named after his wife. After determining the techniques and elements of Isozaki’s drawing , the methodology was critically induced in the representative graphic of Kamala House , such that though the rendition could be viewed through the lens of Isozaki’s style , but , yet it retains its original character and details . Similar color palette of Pastel shades was layered on the original house and the factor of Sciography was applied thoughtfully with respect to the Sun direction. The disintegrated state of Kamala House in the representation displayed the dominating attire of the house in a unique perspective.
