Every structure influences its surrounding either directly or indirectly. To study such impacts, the site I have chosen is Bargal Jahangir Fortress gate which is in the heart of town named Taloda, dist. Nandurbar, Maharashtra. Since 1962, it has stood still, protecting the fortress inside. This study consists of various factors that give the gate its identity like its architectural features, how design principles were used that time considering material availability and construction techniques from that period and how the gate stands out from the surrounding context because of that. The gate gives a sense of pride showing glories of the past but at the same time it becomes a barrier between outside and inside space. It has a huge role in the way town has grown.
